Start with the spindle interface
A CNC tool holder must match the machine spindle before anything else. Common buyer inquiries include BT30, BT40, BT50, CAT40, CAT50, HSK63A, HSK100A, BBT, SK, ISO and straight shank systems. CAT, BT and NMTB are steep taper systems, while HSK uses a different hollow taper design and clamping method.
This is why ZSCNC now presents tool holders as the wider CNC tool holder category. BT40 is still important, but many overseas buyers also need CAT, HSK, BBT, ER and mixed holder orders. A good quotation starts with the spindle interface, machine model, holder type and quantity by model.
Choose the holder type by machining task
After the taper is clear, the buyer should confirm the tool holding side. ER collet chuck holders suit general milling, drilling and flexible diameter clamping. FMB face mill arbors are used for face milling cutters. SLN and side lock holders are chosen for end mills with a Weldon flat. Hydraulic and shrink fit holders are usually selected when runout and balance matter more.
The best RFQ does not only say tool holder. It says BT40 ER32 100L, CAT40 FMB22, HSK63A ER32, BT40 SLN20 or another full model. Photos, drawings or old labels are useful when the buyer is not sure.
Balance, runout and projection should match the machine
Tool holders are often compared by taper size and price, but machining performance depends on more than that. Runout affects surface finish and tool life. Balance matters when the spindle speed is high. Gauge length matters because a long holder may clear the workpiece, but it also increases leverage and can make chatter worse.
For general resale, a standard holder may be enough. For high speed machining, mold work or long tool projection, the RFQ should state the target rpm, balance grade, runout request and cutting tool type. ZSCNC can then separate economical holders from higher precision options instead of mixing two purchasing levels in one quotation.
Pull studs and coolant details should not be treated as small issues
For BT and CAT holders, the pull stud or retention knob must match the machine standard. A wrong pull stud can cause poor retention, chatter, spindle damage or a safety risk. For coolant-through holders, the buyer should also confirm whether coolant holes, AD/B style coolant, sealing parts or matching nuts are needed.
This is one reason we prefer complete RFQ lists. A buyer may ask for BT40 ER32 holders, but the real order may need pull studs, ER32 collets, ER nuts, spanners and a tool cart. Quoting the whole system together reduces the chance of a missing accessory.
Price, delivery and quality in one order
Tool holders are often purchased with pull studs, ER collets, nuts, spanners, drill chuck arbors, tapping tools and boring heads. ZSCNC can quote these items together so buyers compare total purchasing cost instead of checking one small item at a time.

Quality checks before shipment

If the buyer has a runout, balance or high speed requirement, it should be stated before quotation. That lets us avoid quoting an ordinary holder for a job that needs a more controlled tool holding system. For distributor orders, we also check carton separation and model labels carefully, because mixed holders can be expensive to sort after they arrive.
